Dearest reader friends,
What an immense joy it is to share these moments with you, readers who give meaning to this journey. Each encounter reminds me that literature is, above all, a shared embrace.

A few days ago, I experienced the excitement of the gathering with Alan Leites in Madrid, where every word and every glance left a mark on me. And now my heart beats strongly as I announce that on the coming 3rd of October I will be at the Murcia Book Fair, celebrating with you this dream come true with Raji, My Family.

Thank you for being here, for accompanying me, and for making every step even brighter.

With affection,

Alan Leites 🌻

On the 3rd of October I will be at the Murcia Book Fair, its Feria Bonica, signing copies of my book “Raji, My Family: A Story of Immigration, Resistance, Courage and Love”, together with my publisher Círculo Rojo.
For me, this moment is truly special. I believe that one of the greatest dreams of any writer is to have the opportunity to meet their readers, to exchange words, glances, stories… and what better occasion than a day where literature, love and art will be the true protagonists.

Thank you for so much affection. See you very soon!

On the 25th of September, I had the joy and honour of presenting my book “Raji, My Family: A Story of Immigration, Resistance, Courage and Love” at the José Hierro Public Library (Usera) in Madrid.
I want to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to everyone who was present at this gathering. Every glance, every hug, and every word filled me with hope and renewed my faith in a world that is more just, fraternal, compassionate, and loving towards all species.

My special thanks to the José Hierro Public Library (Usera), of the Community of Madrid, and to the dear Ana Hernandes, former librarian, who accompanied me on stage, interviewing me with such care. She was also the one who welcomed me to this library for the first time and issued my membership card when I arrived in Madrid five years ago, making this place my first space of welcome in Spain.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank my partner, Sérgio Ojeda, whose unwavering support has brought this project to life, and whose tenderness and dedication filled Raji’s life with light and joy, whose memory will always live in our hearts.

The book was published recently, in January 2025, when my four-legged furry child, Raji, was still alive, and for this reason it is also a tribute during his life. Sadly, three months after publication, he became a little star in the sky. This presentation was, above all, dedicated to him, who continues to illuminate my life and inspire every page written.

I carry with me the emotion of this day and the certainty that we continue walking together, building bridges and sowing resistance, affection, and possible futures.

Thank you!

Poem “First Dawn” by Alan Leites

In "First Dawn" (Aurora Primeira), Alan Leites delves into the profound emptiness of a kidnapped self, when the lyrical “I” becomes strange to itself, unable to recognise itself in the mirror and silenced in its own voice. The writing pulses with intensity, revealing the pain of one who has become lost within themselves, amidst tears that do not fall, time that slips away, and the steps of a wanderer without direction.

Even in the darkness, a gesture of resistance emerges. Sitting in the lotus position and reciting words in search of meaning, the poet shows that the essence can be reclaimed. The title, Aurora Primera, resonates as a promise: the first light after the night, the hope of a new beginning, and the reconnection with oneself, even after losing everything that once seemed theirs.
